Sue Bates Mortenson, Gerry Simonette and Bob McCann headed up our reunion committee and with great success pulled together The Class of 1974, 20th Reunion, in October 1994. The fun began with a Road Rally, Friday night, which was organized by Aileen Carney Sweeney. The rally began at Old Baldy (which has now been decapitated) and took participants throughout the village, while retrieving Class of '74 items from our past. The rally finished at the Mohawk Station restaurant, in Mohawk, for an informal gathering and to present prizes to the road rally winners.
The following Saturday morning, at 11 A.M., we gathered for coffee and doughnuts, in the high school cafeteria. Football films of yesteryear, were available for viewing. Later, we attended an I.H.S. home football game, under beautiful, blue, autumn skies. Ilion hosted Corcoran in the game, where our class Football team, cheerleaders and others were honored, at halftime.
A semi-formal party was held, Saturday evening, at the Ilion Elks Club. Music was provided by a D.J. who played our favorite 70's hits - "Stairway to Heaven", et. al.. We were also treated to a cheer from our
former cheerleaders and a half-streak by our very own Class of '74 Streaker ....Shane Ferguson. What a way to end a night!!!!
See you at the next reunion..... (Nov 1, 2007)
