"I noticed on the Reunion page of this site that some others ('79 & '69) were attempting to draw an informal gathering of classmates to the Elk's Club that night to enjoy the sounds of The Boss V reunion band. Even tho' we are a couple of years late on the "9", it still sounds like a good time, and what difference does a couple years make at this point anyway? I'd be willing to make a drive to Ilion that night and see who shows up. Perhaps we can get some chatter about it."

"Hello, wow, it's been a long time since I have seen or spoken with most of you. It was interesting to read each of your updates, perhaps I'll make the next reunion and see some of you in person."

"I married Kevin Puckett in 1987, we have been married for 20 years and been together for 25. We do not have any children, but do have two cats. I teach kids with learning problems and am working on my Master's in Library Science. I am also working on my credits for administration. I taught middle school for years and last year switched to high school. Two years ago I certified as a Dog Trainer and have a private training business that I do part-time called, "Canine Companion Training." I go to people's homes and train them (and then they train their dog), it's fun and I can control how much business I do. My friends call me the "dog whisper of Winston." My husband, Kevin, was a Geologist for a number of years and two years ago transitioned into teaching middle school science. It's great to have the summers off together because we get to travel. We've had the opportunity over the years to do a bit of travel (Guadalupe, Jamaica, Mexico, Cancun, Grand Cayman...we have a tropical theme going here!). I may be going to Bolivia on a research grant next January. We hope to travel this summer, but have not decided where. Kevin is a Spelunker, so I had the wonderful opportunity to go caving. His cousin owns Blue Springs Cave in TN (9th largest cave in U.S.) and we've been in it 10 times and a couple of caves in VA. It's such fun getting wet and muddy, like being a kid again! On our 15th wedding anniversary I thought we needed to do something really different...so, we went skydiving! It was so much fun we've gone twice more! I have actually become more adventurous as I've gotten older, no sense in having regrets and wishing you had tried something...as the Nike saying goes just 'Do it.' "

"Kev and I usually get to NY once a year during the summer, but the last two years have been too busy to get there. I hope to make the next get together, I'd love to catch up with some of you. Well, I didn't plan on typing so much...I wish you all well and hope to see you sometime in the near future."

It's great pursuing a long lost degree, while sitting at home in your Garfield slippers! Just consider me a woman of the USA. I work in SC, live in GA, and attend college in NY! My 9-yr old, Erik is a nice boy. Life is consumed by baseball All-Star teams, and baseball camp, where his abilities excel. I was impressed by the new construction at IHS, after touring in October during the Mega-Reunion!"

"Sorry I missed the Mega-Reunion. I was looking forward to seeing some of you. It's been a tough year but the little joys of life make the hard times worth living. After being diagnosed with lung cancer over a year ago, my mother, Gloria Long, passed away at home just after Christmas. I still can't believe such a strong and vibrant woman is gone. Thanks to all of those who sent their condolences. It really meant a lot. But as I said..the good times help. My oldest daughter, Kicia, will be attending Syracuse University in the fall...a dual major in secondary education and history. Looks like my mom's love for all things historical has passed on to another generation! She is a lovely girl and has made me very proud. Tara will be turning 16 this summer and begin....*gulp* driving. To all of those who know how I drive.....take me and multiple it by ten and you have Tara. Watch out world! My son, Rutger, is 13 and has begun burning DVDs of the movies he has been making for the past 4 years. Coming soon to a theater near you! As for me, I am still with my best guy, Mitch....now 4 years and going strong. Isn't it great you get a second chance at love...and it can be even greater than the first? We have a blast and are planning a trip to Italy next year. It's fun reading about all of you...Congrats Wendy on your new low rider. I know you'll love it. Next time we meet we'll have to show off each other's ink! LOL. Take care."

"I have finally gone to our class news site...better late than never is how I have always been. It was nice to read all of the stories. I thought I would drop a quick update...maybe this will be entered before I see many of you. I recently celebrated my 19th wedding anniversary to Dave...can't believe I am old enough for that yet. We were in my favorite place, Portland, ME. We have been working toward getting our Master Diver certification. We finished the Advanced certification last year. We figure if we can achieve this in low visibility at 50 degree water temperature, we can dive successfully almost anywhere. We still have 1 more class and a few more dives to go. I took a motorcycle class early this year...snowed all the time we were on the bikes in early spring. I got the big license and traded my little Buell in for a Harley Davidson Low Rider....life doesn't get any better!! I quit my IT Managers position at Kodak 2 years ago; after a 17 year career. It had gotten consuming. 10 years ago, my husband and I started an ambulance billing business and it finally became large enough for me to manage it full time. It has been 2 years and no regrets at leaving the big corporate life!! Lots more free time...don't want to wait until retirement, it's just too far out. Did I mention I got ink?! See most of you soon and stay in touch if you can't make it to the reunion. Best wishes to all." Wendy

I have lived in Denver for over ten years and have not been back to NY since the early '90s when my mom died. I will try diligently to make it to the 30th reunion if we have it in 2007...assuming Bush does not blow up the world between now and then."

"I just found this site as I was getting info for the ALL-Class reunion coming up in October! It's great to hear about everyone, and it sure looks like I missed a good time at the 20th reunion! We were actually planning on coming until that very day when my husband came down with the flu! Hopefully, I will catch up with many of you in October! Convenient that it coincides with our 25th! I am living in Elmira with my husband and 2 boys, ages 14 and 4. I work for a Pediatric Cardiologist doing pediatric echoes (ultrasounds of the heart). After having lost a 3rd son (born between my other 2 boys) from a heart defect at 3 1/2 months of age, I feel I am able to offer a personal touch to my job as well. One thing I'd like to know - how is it that Ross Getman looks the same age as when we graduated? Or was it the picture? Wish I could be so lucky!! Hope to see many of you in October!" World Trade Center - Gund Bear Project

Ilion Police Officer Brian Lamica IHS 1977, with his wife Nora, volunteered on a project to assist the children of victims of the World Trade Center disaster. Brian and Nora Lamica solicited donations, both locally and nationally, and were able to purchase and deliver 242 Gund-brand teddy bears. Assisted by students from Ilion's Remington Elementary School, they raised enough funds to donate 26 Gund bears (one each from the Remington School classrooms) to the children of victims of the World Trade Center disaster. Remington students and staff raised $441.74 to send the 26 bears to the unfortunate children affected by this tragedy. 146 bears were donated on October 30, 2001: 20 to children of NYPD - one for each child who lost a parent, 55 to children of Port Authority Police - one for each child who lost a parent and 71 to children of FDNY. employees. An additional 96 bears were delivered to New York City on December 12, 2001. Others who contributed with the project include Herkimer BOCES Career Tech Center students and Trico Elementary School in Campbell Hill, Illinois. (January 27, 2002)

Shown in photo (above) are Brian & Nora Lamica, Firefighter Egan holding one of the bears, and Andrew Lamica. This photo was taken in front of a memorial to the fallen firefighters, located in front of the station. Firefighter Egan's brother is a member of Engine 4 Ladder 15, and is still missing.
