Class Characteristics and Incidents

"One of the pleasantest and most delighful features of my Ilion school life was our May Day excursion, when in the early spring, accompanied by our favorite teacher, Miss May Morgan (now Mrs. McCoon), we went over to Oak Hill and gathered trailing arbutus. We took our lunch, and sometimes we made maple candy, cooling it in the snow, which we found in places on the hill-side. This teacher and the loving interest she took in each one of our class remains to me as one of the sweetest memories."
