She was a legend to many of us.... 1918 Alumnus and Ilion High School American History Teacher - Miss Ruth 'Goosie' Gordon.

The Class of 1950 History will give you a taste for her teaching style. You'll recall Miss Gordon lived deep in the woods on the corner of Elm and Brook Street.

In memory of Miss Gordon, the Class of 1950 held a tribute to her during their 50th reunion - September 2000. Classmates were asked to send any Ruth 'Goosie' Gordon story they wanted to share to IHS Class of 1950 contact Jane Russell Nile

For those too young to have experienced Miss Gordon's teaching, we had the thrill of venturing to her home for Halloween. Were you brave enough to Trick-or-Treat at Goosie Gordon's house? If you were, you were in for the best treat of the night! Learn more 'Goosie Gordon Halloween Tales' featured in October, 1998.

"Goosie" sure was different!!!! And how! She did have a very kind side too. I remember that one June, she bought a kid a suit so that he would look like the other kids at graduation." - Ray Prell - Class of 1939 (August 1, 2000)
