Fireworks Over Central NYRadio Stations, TK-99 and TK-105 are sponsoring FIREWORKS '99, presented by American Fireworks, Sunday - August 15th at Vernon Downs! Enjoy a full day of Classic Rock bands, followed by the largest fireworks display ever! (August 5, 1999)
Ilion Civic Band Concert Series
The Ilion Civic Band will be performing once again during the Summer of '99, for the enjoyment of the residents of the Mohawk Valley. Under the direction of Paul Bork, the band will present a series of evening concerts in Ilion, throughout the Summer. The band is sponsored by the Village of Ilion and is made up of musicians from throughout the Mohawk Valley. All concerts are free and open to the public. Each performance will feature a wide variety of enjoyable musical selections. More information is available on the Ilion Civic Band Web Site.

The Village of Mohawk is sponsoring a Summer Concert series in the Weller Park Gazebo. Concerts are free (bring your own lawn chair) and concessions will be sold by the Mohawk Central School Students. All concerts are scheduled for Wednesdays, begining at 7 pm. The schedule is:

Summer Concert Series in Little Falls
The City of Little Falls and the Little Falls YMCA are sponsoring a Summer Concert series in various city parks this Summer. Some concerts are part of the annual Canal Celebration held in August. Concerts are free (bring your own lawn chair) and held in with Ice cream socials. All concerts are scheduled for Wednesdays, begining at 7 pm. The schedule is:

Herkimer - Myers Park Summer Concert Series
As part of the annual Herkimer Summer Festival the committee sponsors a Summer Concert Series in Myers Park. The concerts are free and feature a wide variety of performers. If anyone happens to have the 1999 schedule, please send it along for inclustion here. I believe the concerts are held on Thursdays, at 7 pm.

Celebrate Ilion's MarinaA ceremony, to mark the completion of the Ilion Marina and Central Avenue Canal Corridor Initiative project, will be held at 8 pm, July 11, at the marina. A lighting ceremony, for the newly installed antique street lights, will be held during intermission of a concert by the Utica Symphony Orchestra. A fireworks display will immediately follow the concert. In the event of rain, the concert will be performed at the Ilion High School auditorium at 8 pm. The federal Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Agency invested roughly $420,000 in Ilion's Canal Corridor Initiative project. Ilion is among 10 communities, along the Canal Corridor, that has begun canal-related economic projects with HUD money. Todd Howe, deputy chief of staff for HUD, was the speaker, June 30th, at Ilion's marina during a meeting of community leaders. The second phase of the Ilion marina project, developing more RV sites and boat launches, will be funded through the Environmental Quality Bond Act. (July 2, 1999)

Woodstock 30th Reunion in Central New York - Band Lineup Announced ! ...
Woodstock '99 is coming to the former Griffiss Airforce Base (Rome, NY) - it's official!. The 30th reunion concert is expected to draw 250,000 concert goers to Central New York for the 3 day concert, July 23-25. Check here for the Band Lineup Announced Today. (April 8, 1999)
