Dr. Bridget Sweeney is the daughter of Aileen Carney Sweeney IHS 1974 and Richard Sweeney. Bridget grew up with her siblings, Mary, Erin and Sean Sweeney, on Old Forge Road, Ilion. Dr. Sweeney is a 2004 graduate of Ilion High School. She attended Syracuse University College of Arts and Sciences and earned a Bachelor's Degree in Biology. She continued her studies in Dental School at the University of Buffalo and graduated cum laude in 2012. Fellow dentist, Dr. Mark Donahue, Bridget's cousin and IHS graduate 1995, presented Bridget with her Commencement Doctoral hood during the UB graduation ceremony.

Sweeney completed a residency program at St. Joseph's Hospital Health Center in Syracuse. She began her dental practice with Dr. Kurt Gromley in Sherrill, NY. Dr. Bridget Sweeney is currently with a dental practice in Auborn, NY. Bridget is the granddaughter of Dr. Theodore Carney IHS 1936.
