Last Member of First Class Passes Away at Home Here The long warm sunny days remind us that our schools will again soon close, and another graduating class be launched out upon the world. The class of '83 of our academy is the largest (and of course the smartest) one ever graduated. It contains fourteen members, eight of whom have full regents' certificates. The officers of the class are as follows: President, W. W. Plumb; vice president, Claribel Rich; Secretary, Albert E. Sumner; Treasurer, Fred J. Miller. The class day honors are divided as follows: Walter Baker, salutatorian, Ned O. Walker, historian, Jas. R. Brennen, prophet; Sylvia Palmer, poet, Nellie Rulison, Valedictorian. Commencement will this year come on Thursday evening, the 28th and on the following Friday evening, will take place the annual alumni meeting. The executive committee of the association, consisting of Miss Hattie E. Russell '73, W. P. Lewis, '76. Mrs. Geo. D. Richardson, '79, Matie Shepherd, '80, and Charles Brill '81, has been at work completing arrangements for a successful alumni meeting and banquet; and the meeting will doubtless be in every way a pleasant and successful one.
