GRADUATING CLASS OF HIGH SCHOOL The Rev. M. G. Seymour Presided the Baccalaureate Sermon last night Ilion, June 23 - The graduating class of the High School attended the Methodist Church last evening to listen to the baccalaureate sermon delivered by the Rev. M. G. Seymour, the pastor of the Church. The class occupied seats in the center and wore their class colors, blue and white. They were accompanied by the faculty and Board of Education. The Rev. Mr. Seymour, took for his text, Psalms IXXV:4:7. There was a large congregation. A soprano solo by Miss Carrie Baker was finely rendered. A choir of sixteen voices sang "Unto Thee, O God," in an admirable manner. The members of the graduating class are as follows: The Misses May Butler, May Connor, Agnes Hartley, Florence Kamerer, Mildred Young, Harriet McCraith, Margaret Merry, Grace Avery, Florence Birdseye. Messrs. Leon Ross, Guy Gordon, John Gordon, Gilbert Warren, Donald Lewis. Graduating Exercises This evening, which is the closing of the school year, appropriate exercises will be held at the Ilion Opera House. The following programme has been arranged: "Duties of Citizenship," by Leon Ross: "Influence of the Italian Renaissance,' by Florence Kamerer; "Centralizing Tendencies," by John Gordon; Shakespeare's "Julius Caesar and the Caesar of History," by Mae Butler; "The Interoceanic Canal," by Donald Twiss; "Molding Events In American History," by Gilbert Warren; "The New South," by Grace Avery. Thompson's orchestra will furnish music. The class day exercises of the High School will be held the Arcanum Hall this evening. A fine programme has been arranged, which is as follows: Address, by Leon Ross; the history will be retold by Florence Kamerer; Mae Frances Birdseye, who is the essayist, has written on the subject of "Patriotism and How to Stimulate it." The class poem has been prepared by Mildred Young. Gilbert Warren is the orator of the class, who will explain the meaning of "Swastika, the emblem of the class. The future greatness of the class will be foretold by the prophetess of the class, Mae Butler.
