ILION STRICT WATCH WHERE THERE IS DIPTHERIA Two Special Policeman Were Appointed to Guard Houses - One New Case Ilion June 11 - The Board of Trustees held a special meeting last evening to appoint two special policemen to establish a strict quarantine and to watch the houses of those who may have diphtheria The authorities are determined to stamp out the disease. This action of the board was taken in accordance with the provisions of the general village law relating to contagious and infectious disease, which says "Every such local Board of Health shall guard against the introduction of contagious and Infectious disease by the exercise of proper and vigilant medical inspection of control of all persons and things arriving in the municipality from infected places, or which from any cause are liable to communicate contagion. It shall require the isolating of all persons and things infected with or exposed to such diseases and provide a suitable place for the treatment of and care of sick persons, who cannot otherwise be provided for. It shall prohibit and present all intercourse and communication with or use of infected places and things and require and if necessary provide means for the thorough purification and cleansing of the same before general Intercourse with same or use thereof shall be allowed."
