NORMAL CONDITIONS RESUMED IN VILLAGE

State Health Official Saw No Reason Why Commencement Exercises Should Not be Held

Ilion, June 25. - Dr. Herbert D. Pease, director in the anti-toxin and hygienic laboratories of the New York state Board of Health met at the home of Health Officer Dr. H. J. Hunter last evening with the members of the Board of Health, Prof. Warren of the High School and other citizens that are interested in the commencement exercises and other coming affairs. Last Friday afternoon the State Board of Health notified the local Board of Health that all public inside gatherings should not be held for a period of 30 days. The people that are interested in several coming events as well as the business, realized that the conditions of affairs did not warrant any such stringent measures and began at once to take steps to have the ban removed, three petitions were sent to the State Board of Health signed by the business men and village officials and others prominently interested. After the condition had been thoroughly talked over by those present at the meeting last evening, Dr. Pease state that he could see no reason to present the holding of the commencement exercises, church services, band concerts and other out door functions, be he did advise that Sunday schools the library remain closed and other functions where children congregate, such as picnics, etc. For a time the doctor also advised that all persons in families where the disease has prevailed should not attend the commencement exercises. The members of the graduating class, their parents and in fact everybody in the village are greatly pleased to learn that the village will resume its normal state of affairs.
