HAVE COMPLETED SCHOOL COURSE Graduates Receive Diplomas at Exercises Enjoyed by All The commencement exercises of the class of 1918 were held at the High School Auditorium last night and there was present a very large audience of the parents and friends of the graduates. The program was as follows: March, orchestra, prayer, the Rev. E. B. Topping, D. D.; "Value of Coeducation in High School", Helen Mento; "Relation of the Public Library to the Community," Marion Redway; chorus, "Chase of the butterflies" (Louis Clapimon). Girls' Glee Club; "Advantages of Visual Instruction," Isabel Walton; "The Lloyd George Ministry," Edward Jones; chorus, "My Own United States" (Edwards), Girls' Glee Club; presentation of diplomas; benediction, The Rev. E. B. Topping. In presenting diplomas Superintendent Schwartz announced the class honors and Miss Marion Redway, whose average was 94 4-10 per cent received the honor of valedictorian of her class and Miss Grace Jones with an average of 91 8-10 percent received that of salutatorian. Honorary mention was given Edward Jones, whose average was 90 6-10. The average of the class on a class basis was 84 1-10 percent and featured on a regents' basis 81 5-10 percent. The several speakers did wonderfully and the Girls' Glee Club, who rendered the several selections was a most pleasant feature of the program and they well demonstrated the excellent training of Miss Carmen Flint, musical supervisor The graduates and the courses completed were: Latin Course English Course Scientific Course Elective Course Four Year Commercial Course Two Year Commercial Course
Alumni Reunion To-night It is expected that to-day's beautiful weather will bring out a large number of former graduates and those of 1918 to attend the reunion of the Ilion High School Alumni Association this evening. The affair will be held in the auditorium and gym of the new High School. Preparations have been completed for a brief business meeting, short program, dancing and refreshments.
