Allen H. Russell Is Appointed Motions Clerk for District Court A well-known Ilion native, Allen H. Russell, has just been appointed to a responsible position in the District of Columbia, according to word received in Ilion. Mr. Russell, who established one of the best scholastic records in the history of Ilion High School, has just been appointed motion clerk of the Circuit Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia. The appointment was made by the Hon. Harold M. Stephens, chief judge of the Circuit Court. Mr. Russell, the son of Mrs, Hazel B. Russell, 124 Otsego St., and the late Harry E. Russell, was graduated from the Ilion High School in 1941 and from the Princeton School of Public International Affairs in 1946. He studied at the University of Paris during the summer of 1947 and graduated from the Harvard Law School in 1949. He is a member of Phi Beta Kappa. Russell served 2 1/2 years in the United States Army during World War II and was discharged in 1945 for injuries received in Holland. Mr. Russell is one of several Ilion High School graduates holding responsible positions in Washington, Including at least two men with the State Department.
