Kiwanis Club Hears Ilion High Honor Students Allen Russell, salutatorian of the Ilion High school graduating class and Warren Schulz, valedictorian read papers which gained them first and second place in the Herkimer County American Legion speaking contest, at the regular weekly meeting of the Kiwanis Club yesterday. Russell, who placed first in the contest read his paper, "Swords and Plowshares," and Schulz read the paper, "The Bulwarks of the Nation." Kiwanis members were high in their praise of Warren Schulz, who recently gained county wide recognition for having set the highest scholastic average of 96.02 for his four years at the school. Russell's average for the four years was 94.37.
