Record Honor Roll Announced At Ilion High Assembly Frank Soules, with a scholastic average of 95.61, will be valedictorian of the Ilion High School Class of 1942, it was announced yesterday afternoon at school assembly, by J. Guy Prindle, principal. Soules average was the second highest ever reached by an Ilion senior. The highest average was attained by Warren Schulz, who graduated last June with a mark of 96.02. Another high average was set in 1940, when Edwin Smith was graduated with 95.25. That mark was the highest average in the history of the school up to that time. Salutatorian of this year's senior class is Richard Van Wiggeren. His average is 94.10. Prindle said there are 12 other pupils on the school honor roll. He explained that honor pupils are those whose average is above 90. The total of 14 on this year's honor roll is the greatest number in the school's history. Prindle said. He added that 10 honor roll pupils was the highest previous number. The other 12 honor pupils and their averages are: Betty Supplee, 93.63; Charles Jarvis, 93.61; Robert Parsons, 93.51, Martha Davala, 92.30; George Johnson, 91.99; Ray Donohue, 91.30. Paul Momberger, 91.86; Katherine Panarites, 91.29; Dorothy Zeh, 90.85, Louise Sheffield and Paul Wagner, 90.30; and Nancy Allen, 90.10. The assembly program marked the closing of the school for the spring recess. Classes will be resumed April 13th.
