Ilion Dentist Commissioned For Service in Air Force

Ilion - Dr. Raymond H. Russell, 18 S. Third Ave., has been commissioned a First Lieutenant and has been called to active service in the Air Force Dental Corps.

He left yesterday for Chanute Field, Ill. He is the first local dentist to be recalled to active service. While in this village, he has been associated with his father, Dr. Homer Russell, in the practice of dentistry.

He is married to the former Wilma Simmons of Westport, Conn., and the couple have two children, Sharon, 2, and Michael, 1.

Dr. Russell graduated from Ilion High School in 1942 and entered Union College for his predental course. He enlisted in the Air Force and was graduated from Columbia University School of Dental and Oral surgery in June, 1947.
