Five Veterans Included In '49 Class; 8th Grade Goes Up The busy graduation schedule for the members of the Ilion High School class of 1949 has been announced by Mr. J. G. Prindle, principal. Beginning with the annual class Night festivities on Friday, June 24, and climaxed by the actual graduation exercises on Tuesday, June 29, the seniors will face a very strenuous five days activity. The Class Night ceremonies will be held in the High School auditorium and will feature the customary skits by members of the Junior class. On Sunday evening at 7:30 in the High School Auditorium, the Rev. Ernest B. Pugh, minister of St. Augustine's Episcopal Church will deliver the Baccalaureate Sermon. Caroga Lake will be scene of the annual class picnic to be held on Monday, June 27. On Tuesday evening, June 28, approximately 65 graduates will march down the aisles of the Capitol theater to receive their diplomas. Featured on the program will be an address by the Hon. Orlo Brees, Assemblyman from Binghamton, on the subject, "Fences and Horizons." Also featured on the program will be speeches b Shirley Swarthout and Carl Peterson, Valedictorian and Salutatorian of the class.
