Judges Select Ilion Youth Leadership Award Winner ILION - Winners in the Elks Youth Leadership contest are Miss Doreen Pelletier, 80 S. Fourth Ave., Ilion, and Michael Plano, 535 Litchfield St., Frankfort, it was announced last night at the teen-age dance at the club. Judges in the contest were Robert Patterson, Herkimer Herkimer High School principal, and Raymond Witter, Little Falls High School principal. The youngsters were selected on leadership merits as vouched for by their teachers, parents, clergymen and friends. Miss Pelletier, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph A. Pelletier, is one of the top honor seniors in Ilion High School and a member of the National Honor Society. She recently won first place in headline writing in a contest sponsored by the New "York State School Press Association. Michael, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Plano is one of Frankfort High's top ten honor students of this year's graduating class and has been an outstanding athlete throughout his high school days. The contest and dances have been sponsored by the Youth Activities committee of the local lodge headed by Frank Capes, assisted by Earl Waldroff, T. S. Leahy and Dale Johnson.
