Ilion High Senior Wins Dr. Watkin Scholarship of $100 Ilion ... Miss Nancy Adams, daughter of Mr. Edward Adams, 53 West North St., and a senior at Ilion High, has been selected to receive the Ilion Teacher's Association Scholarship Award of $100. She was chosen over eight other candidates for the award, which comes from the newly created Dr. Watkin Memorial Scholarship. The award, to be given to someone entering the teaching field, is based on scholarship, character and need. Nancy is planning to enter Oswego State Teacher's College in the fall. Among her school activities at Ilion High are: varsity cheerleader, Orpheus Club and FTA members. She has worked on school publications and was active in girls' athletics. The scholarship fund was set up from the proeceeds o fthe faculty play which earned a total of $709, with total receipts of $898.
