Ilion High Informative - By Regina Stefanishyn ILION - The varsity football team won its first game last week team beating Little Falls 26-7. Let's hope the team can keep up the good work and win all the rest of the games. The freshman team lost its first game last Saturday to Frankfort. The next freshman game will be Oct. 28 when the team plays at New Hartford. The junior varsity team won its game with Proctor by a score of 21-12 Monday at Proctor field in Utica. The next Jayvee game will be on Oct. 30 at New Hartford. The Tri-City plays were a real success. Ilion's play, "Curse You Jack Dalton," showed the effect of hard work by the cast and the director. All the plays were enjoyable. Seniors of Ilion High said "Cheese" last week at the Robel Studio in Herkimer, where they were getting their pictures taken for the yearbook. All students at Ilion High have puzzled the last few weeks by signs they saw as they passed through the halls. Signs such as "Beware of Murgatroyd" and "Wendell is coming soon" attracted everyone's attention. Yesterday the students found out that his was just a "gimmick" to sell the "Quill," school newspaper. The Quill staff is trying a new thing this year, putting out the newspaper every two weeks. The whole staff is very busy and is doing a fine job. Members of the Quill this year are: Editors, Linda Vernooy and Peggy McClave; humor editor, Jill Urtz; senior editor, Regina Stefanishyn; boys sports Michael Brown; girls sports, Elaine Volo. The FNA is holding a dance tonight in the girls gym from 8-11. Admission will be 50 cents. See you all next week!
