ILION - The Orpheus Choir and orchestra will present the annual spring concert in the Ilion High School auditorium at 8 p.m. next Monday.

The choir will present nine selections and the orchestra four.

A string quartet consisting of Lisa Siver, Lois Hofstra, Sarah Lahey and Carla Braun will be heard as will "The Belles."

Twelve films dealing with social studies, science and English will be shown at the high school auditorium during the lunch hours during the remaining cold weather days.

Marilyn Nile, who was chosen at the beginning of the year by the Ilion chapter, American Field Service, to compete for a foreign country trip this summer as an exchange student was not selected by the A. F. S. preliminary selection.

The A.F.S. is able to send only one out of 10 Applicants to a foreign country.

Congratulations to James Willey for being selected first time string on the all-Iroquois League basketball team! John Brewer made second string.

The Frosh Golden Bombers basketball team ended a most successful season Saturday by defeating West Canada 42-16. The season record for the Frosh was21 wins, one loss.

The girls' volleyball game with West Canada High School scheduled for Monday night was post postponed because of bad weather conditions.

Ilion placed first in volleyball and in table tennis doubles to help boost the school's lead in the Winter Sports Trophy chase. A winter sports tournament was held in Ilion today.

Ilion's High varsity basketball team will meet Herkimer High at the U.F.A. gym, Utica, tonight in the Section II class A tournament finals.

The Golden Bombers, who upset Tri-Valley League Champion Holland Patent 64-57 in over time and Tuesday downed Chittenango 59-46, will have a tough battle on their hands.

The Herkimer High squad, under Coach Elwyn Evans, trampled VVS 91-53 Saturday night and then proceeded to upset Mohawk High 55-53 in a thriller Tuesday night.

In the regular season, the two teams divided a home-and-home series. Herkimer won at Ilion 6O-43 and the Bombers gained revenge at Herkimer 63-52.

Ilion High’s team is paced by all-league center Willey, who has averaged 17.5 points per game in sectional play. Willey and Sophomore Douglas Bernard lead the point-making attack, while Thomas Deyle and John Brewer handle the playmaking.
