Ilion High Informative - By Regina Stefanishyn ILION - Results of the elections for Student Council officers were announced last Saturday at the talent show. They were: president. Thomas Deyle; vice president, Donald Keddell; secretary, Diana Withington; and treasurer, Susan Wood. Marilyn Nile has been chosen as one of the four girls from Herkimer County to Girl's State for one week during the summer. Girl State will be held at New Paltz State University this year. Purpose or this organization is to help develop leaders of tomorrow. Last Friday, the track team downed Frankfort 71-42. On Wednesday the team won another important meet when they beat Oneonta, 76-37. Congratulations Team! At the present Ilion is in the lead for the All-Sports Trophy. Oneonta is close behind us. The next few track meets and baseball games will determine winner of the trophy. Tonight the junior prom will be held in the boys' gym from 9-1. The theme is the "Twinkling Twenties." Admission is $2.75 per couple and the music will be furnished by the Top Hatters. Ilion's Golden Bombers won a non-league contest from Clinton on May 18 as they downed the warriors 5-2 in an extra inning game. Sam Geragi hurled perfect ball for the winners for 5 1-3 innings before Robert Gilbert singled for Clinton. Sam fanned 12 and walked 1 while going the distance. Geragi was also the big gun at the plate for Ilion belting a 2-run homer in the 8th to give the visitors a 3-1 edge en-route to victory. Last Wednesday, the Bombers trounced Norwich 17-2 in a game played at Ilion. John Brewer was the hero of the day when he cracked a grand slam homer in the first inning. The Bombers notched 8 runs in the first, 7 more in the 3rd and 2 in the fourth in the 17 run romp. Fred Goldby, Norwich starter, lost his 3rd game in a a row going just 2-3 of an inning. Goldby batted a homer in the 3rd for the visitors.
