Ilion High Informative - By Regina Stefanishyn The Golden Bombers of Ilion Central High School were defeated in both games against Mohawk High last Friday night, the Jayvees losing 49-38 and the varsity 57-58. These games closed the 1961-62 basketball season for the Iroquois League. The Bombers placed fourth in the standings. The Varsity Club will hold a dance in the boys' gym March 18 at which a varsity wrestling king, basketball king and winter sports kind will be chosen. Dancing will be from 8 to 11 with admission 35 cents. Those attending will vote on their choices for kings. Senior announcements were chosen and ordered this week, showing again how near the end of the school year, is, particularly for seniors. The Spanish Club will hold a Spanish dinner tonight at the school with an exchange student from Barcelona who is attending Utica Free Academy as speaker. A Winter Sports Tournament was held at Ilion High School today. The school already has accumulated 170 points toward the all-sports trophy. The following seniors have been accepted by colleges: David Nichols, MVTI; Jo-Ann Tuttle, Meyer Memorial Hospital: Ellen Green Alfred Tech; Robert Jones, MVTI. The girls' volleyball team played Little Falls Monday after school with teams I, II, III winning. Team IV lost its games. The Latin Club will hold a Latin dinner March 17 with slides being shown after the banquet. A play will be presented by Latin students entitled "The Assassination of Caesar." Students will wear the traditional togas.
