Dana Nelson Gets Ilion High Award

ILION - A $50 award to Dana Nelson for furthering his education highlighted presentation of awards by the Ilion High School Student Council at an assembly yesterday.

The scholarship was based on outstanding leadership and citizenship.

Service club sweaters to four members who contributed the most time at ticket-taking, monitoring halls, ushering and the like went to:

Charles Bennet, Tom Deyle, Paul Morris, Leslie DeReus.

Council awards to members who made outstanding contributions of ideas, discussion, time, work and effort went to:

First Year pins - Ray Wardle, Regina Stafanishyn, Jade Brewer, Linda Braybrook, Susan Wood, Dick Adams, Bob Heneka, Paul Morris; second year guards—Bill Drumm, Vince Bonvino, Mike McCormack; third year gift - Dana Nelson.

Awards to 1961-62 council officers were presented to Roger Fortuna, president; Tom Deyle, vice president; Don Keddell, secretary; Elaine Volo, treasurer; Stan Kozenewski, parliamentarian.

New student council officers for 1962-63 are Deyle, president; Keddell, vice president; Diane Withington, secretary; Susan Wood, treasurer.
