Ilion High Informative - By Nancye Robertson New Faces Seen This Week As Specialists Visit School This week the halls of Ilion High have been filled with unfamiliar faces. The State Education Department sent people to look at our school and give us any ideas they may have to improve our school. Some were here all week and some were here only for a few days. Registration was this week for Student Council elections. Friday the primaries were held. Members on the Gold Party are: party chairman, Pat Cinllo, Mary Carney; president, Ron Benson and Craig Dolan; vice president, Chris Monohan and Beth Dunn; secretary, Mary Ann Bonvino, Steve Applegate, and Dean Rathbun. Also: treasurer, Joe Costanza, Linda Pugh and Carol Woolver. On the Brown Party: chairman, Therese DeForrest and Mary Ann Kroll; president Glenn Smith, Sharan Losier, and Pat Lacy; vice president, Joan Palmer, Bill Getman, John Menard; secretary, Kristen Edwards, Shelley Danforth, Allen Starring; treasurer, Pat Santmire, Connie Raux. Tryouts for next year's varsity and junior varsity cheerleaders will be next Tuesday in the girl's gym. Good luck to all who are trying out. Freshmen, sophomores and juniors are getting their schedules set for next year with the guidance office. Friday was the biggest day of the week. Every year, grades 9-12 participate in "class games." At 6:30 the freshman boys played the sophomore boys in a basketball game. Freshmen and sophomore girls do the cheering. Next comes the senior and junior game. Both classes present a skit before the game. This is one occasion everyone looks forward to, even the teachers. Cheering for frosh were Dian Sarmi, Marilyn Johnson, Ellen Morse, Mary Ann Bonvino, Jo Anne Capes, Barb Stubley, Shelley Danforth, Kiki Goodman, and Joan Nichols. The team players were Bill Albin, Frank Barrett, Gene Bullis, Tom Commins, Dale Edwards, George Entwistle, Matt Marley, Louie Patrei, Dean Rathbun, Jim Richards, Santo Salvaggio, Allen Staring, Kim Steele, Dave Williams, and Don Williams. Sophomore girls were Bunny Seaman, Marilois Scott, Marilyn Clark, Kathy Baker, Gale Andrews, Beth Dunn, Barb Bereza, Sue Newman, and Joan Palmer. Boys were: Tom Seymour, Bill Trevor, Mark Vivyan, Bob Service, Mike Bouck, Rick Cashman, Jim Venditte, Doc Hegeman, Tom Clayton, Cliff Lane, Dick Lewis, Bill Burger, Steve Hoffman, Steve Morris, and Roger Reynolds. Junior cheerleaders were Pam Paragi, Jody Janicki, Linda Pugh, Sue Bachorick, Leigh Dibble, Pat Santomire, Sharon Losier, Connie Raux, Pat Lacey. Boys were Jim Bernard, John Greico, John Kowalczik, Jack Braren, Joe Costanza, Ron Benson, Wayne Murphy, Brian Volo, Lon Rivers, Bob Pozniak, John Nelson, Tom Beatty, Gary Wood, Bill Commins. Senior cheerleaders were Sandy Paragi, Mary Ann Kroll, Edna Sullivan, Theresa De Forrest, Chris Morse, Cindy Coyle, Margaret Slocum, Sharon Wagner, "Picki" Geustkens, and Nancye Robertson. Senior players were Pete Garlock, Terry Baker, Dave Steele, Vic Norman, Bob Turley, Tom Moreau, Wayne Kencharek, Mike Hoffman, Gary Whiteford, Jim Colburn, Dick Bly, Tony Cudhea, Jack Sweeney, and Donald Albin.
