Ilion High Informative By Mike Braun and Joan Withington This week's highlight was the Student Council open assembly meeting. The purpose of the meeting was to allow students of the school, not in council, to voice their opinions and see how their council runs. Such subjects as the computer dance, council elections, the candy sale, and spring class games were discussed. Senior National Honor Society met with its new members this week. Plans were made for the annual book fair. Thursday the Student Council officers and advisor went to Norwich to participate in discussion groups on student government. Franklin D. Roosevelt Jr. was guest speaker. Committee chairmen were selected for the Junior prom. This years theme is "Dive Into The Depths" by Melinda Marley. Miss Marley and Victor Norman are general chairmen of the event. Special committee chairmen are as follows: decorations, Martin Merchant; and Peg Getman; throne, Joyce Hanson; centerpiece, Michael Braun; favors, Margaret Slocum; refreshments, Carol Korba; publicity, Marsha Davidson; band, David Cheesebrough; invitations, Mary Lewis; and programs. Barb Burke. The Mirror staff held a meeting Wednesday after school to get new members for next year. Alec Sternberg and Carla Braun gave a brief resume on the work required to put the yearbook together. Tickets went on sale yesterday for the computer dance. This dance is to be held on May 7th from 8 p.m. to 12. Tickets are limited to 150. Students in grades 10 through 12 are urged to purchase tickets early.
