Annunciation Graduates Get Diplomas

ILION - Diplomas were presented 46 eighth grade pupils of Annunciation School Sunday following attendance in a group at Mass and Holy Communion late in the morning.

Rev. George Mulhall, pastor, awarded many prizes at the graduation ceremonies, including Rev. James Gilloon Memorial and Rev. Mulhall prizes to Gregory Van Valkenburg, highest average, Barbara Keddell second highest.

The pastor awarded $5 first prizes and $3 second prizes in these categories: religion, Joseph Swanson, first, Barbara Keddell, second; English Part 1, Mary Ellen McCann, first, Donna Compeau, second; English Part 2, Theresa DeForest, first, Patricia Trevor, second.

Also, geography, Denis Jones, first, Melinda Marley, second; history, Gregory Van Valkenburg, first, Mary Carney, second; mathematics, Christine Joy, first, Sharon Wagner, second; science, William Huffer, first, Sandra Loftis, second.

Donating the awards were Court St. Bridget, CDA; Christian Mothers Club; Ilion Council, Knights of Columbus; Holy Name Society; Ilion Council of Catholic Women.
