Ilion Informative - Cheering Squads Chosen At Ilion

The cheering squads for 1970 1971 were chosen last week.

Varsity cheerleaders are Colleen Manion, Carol Palmer, Cindy Raux, Pat Fitzgibbons, Phyllis Palmer, Pat Baker, Sharon Yardley and Tammy Ashhley. Junior Varsity girls selected were Pam Ashley, Nancy Carter, Karen Cranney, Nancy Winslow, Lynne Nile, Debbie Kubala, Sue Monohan, and Sara Radley. Congratulations girls!

On Thursday of this week grades 8 - 11 met to nominate candidates for the upcoming Student Council elections. All candidates will run in the primaries which will be held next Tuesday.

Tuesday was Village Day at Ilion on which members of the senior class replaced village officials for the afternoon. Dave Grieco as mayor headed the slate of officers. The seniors selected toured the village facillities and attended a board meeting in the evening.

Kindergarten registration was held at the West Hill and Barringer Road Elementary Schools Tuesday. Jo Ann Capes, Judy Crocker, Mary Ann Bonvino, Veronica Healey, Sue Schneider, Debbie Melnick and Diane Sarmie assisted with the enrollment of the pre schoolers.
