Cash Awards To 35 Ilion Seniors
Ilion - Thirty-five Ilion Central high school seniors received cash awards at the first annual class night program last night.
Patrice Cacciatore, valedictorian with an average of 94.97, was awarded
the Earl Perry Watkins Memorial Prize for valedictorian, $25;
mathematics, five years, savings bond given by Marine Midland;
eight units of mathematics and science, $19 and
the John Guy Prindle Memorial Prize in Science, $10.
Daniel O'Brien, salutatorian, with an average at 94.34, received
the school prize for Salutatorian, $20;
eight units of mathematics and science, $10;
Rensselaer Pyrotechnical Institute Math and Science Medal,
the John Guy Prindle Memorial Prize in Science, second prize of $5; and the
Burton T. Seymour Memorial Prize for Service, $20.
Deborah Long was presented
the Loretta O. Douglas Memorial Award of 50 given by the Ilion Alumni Assn. for Outstanding work in the field of English;
World History 10th year award of $5 given by Miss Barbara Schwartz in memory of her mother, Mrs. Ann Schwartz;
and the French 4 Award, $10;
American History Award.
Stephen Applegate received
the American History 12th year award of $5 given by the Mohawk Valley Chapter DAR;
the William and Nettie Parker Prize for outstanding work in science and (or) music, $45; and the
Northside Athletic Club Award to a deserving boy, $10.

Alan Hailston, Art 3, $10 and an award for most progress by a boy through his individual efforts and perseverance given by the Police Benevolent Assn. $10;
Philip Snedeker, mechanical drawing, $10;

Carol Flint, bookkeeping, $10.
Kathy Burch and Gwen Ames, office practice typing given by the Business and Professional Womens' Club, $5 each;
Cheryl Johnson and Jean Nichols, English Literature term paper prize given to other than the valedictorian or salutatorian by the Ilion Historical Club, $15 each;
