GAC Awards At Ilion

ILION - Members of the Girls Athletic Council at Ilion Central High School were feted last night at the annual banquet held in the school cafeteria.

A number of awards were presented including the "unsung hero award" to Robin Gage; the senior service award and the outstanding senior girl award to Kathy Callister, and the Priscilla Burnham Award to Cindy Matteson.

The most valuable player trophies in the individual sports went to: Kathy Callister and Karen McCumber, field hockey Cindy Matteson, tennis; Kathy Callister, basketball;Debbie Smithson, bowling; Cindy Murphy, volleyball; Cindy Matteson, softball; and Diane Bates, track.

Special high point awards were presented to Kathy Callister, Cindy Matteson and Karen McCumber.

Those receiving varsity shields (20 points) were Diane Bates, Robbin Gage, Kathy Heintz, Debbie Kubala, Barb Lester, Cindy Murphy, Becky DeVere and Lori Wilson.

Varsity bars (40 points) went to Cindy Matteson, Sharon White, and Lenore Bernier.

Five girls were awarded the intramural bar. They were Diane Bates, Mary Kenealy, Charlene LaDue, Leslie Peplinski Cumm, and Mean Whittaker.

Intramural "I" awards went to Laurie Anderson, Barb Beckwith, Colleen Block, Nancy Burton, Kathy Coupe, Pat Fitzgibbons, Karen Fox, Penny Jones, Lexie Jurewicz, Diane Lytwynec, Karen McCumber, Cindy Murphy, Diane Polley, Sue Rathbun, Roberta Swart, Sally Tracy, Sharon Yardley, Sue Baker, Lenore Bernier, Mary Daily, Kathy Hoy, Cindy McDowell, Sue McIntyre, Betty Ploutz, Debbie Rice, Debbie Trombley, Lynn Vella, Ginger Wellington and Sue Bates
