Now that the Christmas season has arrived, students seem to be busier than ever, in school and out.

Recently, the Junior High student body went to the polls to elect new leaders for their Junior High Student Council. The new officers are: Steve Hyer, president: Wallace Gay, vice president: Aileen Carney, secretary, and Arlene Gogol, treasurer. With the election of these officers, the Junior High Student Council will be getting off to a good start this year.

In the Senior High Student Council a committee has been formed look into a "Student of the Month" program. A senior for the month of December has been chosen and will be announced at a later date. Each month, an outstanding senior will be recognized.

The Latin American Studies classes, a new elective course this year in Ilion, attended a Spanish festival program last Tuesday ni^it. The program was one of the Great Artists Series at the Stanley Theater in Utica. The program was excellent.

The second program year, scheduled by the Performing Arts Committee, was held Friday at an assembly for grades 7, 8, and 9. The troupe, Mariano Parra and the Ballet Espanol, consisted of five dancers, one guitarist and one singer. The company performed 15th Century Spanish Dancing and music. Members of the ballet troupe spent Thursday night in the homes of Ilion High student.

After many weeks of practice and preparations, the Dramatics Cfub presented its play, "The King's Cream Puffs", at two area elementary schools East Frankfort School and North Street Elementary School.

The first game of the Girls' Inter - School basketball team was played today at Mohawk High School.
