Diplomas To 20 At Annunciation School In Ilion

ILION - Twenty graduates of Annunciation School received their diplomas yesterday during annual ceremonies following a late-afternoon Mass at Annunciation Church.

The Rev. Gregory Mulhall, pastor, and Sister Jeanne Connolly, principal, presented the diplomas at the church. James Wallace, guidance counselor at Ilion High School, was guest speaker at a banquet held later at the Ilion Knights of Columbus Lodge.

Toastmaster was John McKenna. The graduates were presented with gifts by Alcide Gaboriault, PTO president. Patrick Waite, member of the graduating class, presented Sister Connolly with a gift of flowers from the class.

Heenan Pickett, who recently retired after serving many years as custodian, was honored , during the dinner. He was presented several checks from the various organizations affiliated with the church and school.

Mrs. Margaret Roche, faculty member who is retiring, was given a gift by the PTO. The Rev. Patrick Mangan, assistant pastor, closed the program with a prayer.

The graduates are: Suzanne Bates, Monica Block, Marie Calicchia, Katherine Canning, Constance Eller, Ellen Jones, Kathleen Morris, Kathleen O'Connor, Lorina Paoni, Janet Robinson.

Also, Thomas Bowes, James Coupe, William Entwistle, Timothy Jock, Randy Lennon, Robert McCann, Douglas Nicolette, Martin Snedeker, Patrick Waite and David Whalen.
