![]() Walter Harold Williams - IHS 1947 - PharmacistWalter Williams born on January 1, 1930 to Evan Williams and Ina (Holt) Williams in Ilion, New York. He graduated from Ilion High School with the Class of 1947. In 1951, he graduated from the Albany College of Pharmacy. He enlisted in the US Air Force the same year. He was commissioned a 2nd Lieutenant in 1952. His career included assignments throughout the US, Greenland, Morocco and Japan. He then served as administrator for the First Presbyterian Church of San Antonio for 13 years until his retirement in 1997. Walter retired from the Air Force after 31 years of honorable and meritorious service in 1981. Col. Walter Harold Williams, USAF Retired, age 80, of San Antonio, Texas passed away on January 17, 2010. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Evan Jr., Fred and Noel and sisters, Mary and Karen. He was survived by his wife of 58 years, Eleanor Sager Williams; daughter, Susan Harvey, sons, Steven and Scott Williams and wife, Gladys, and grandson, Ivan Harvey. "Walt was passionate in his love of God, family and country." Graveside service with full military honors was held on Friday January 22, 2010 at the Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery. A memorial service was held on Friday, January 22, 2010 at the First Presbyterian Church 4040 North Alamo. Rev. Ruthie Seiders and Rev. Dr. Louis Zbinden, officiated.
