Ilion - Five seniors of the Ilion High School received awards yesterday, at the final assembly of the school year.

Principal Joseph Baker, officiating at the presentations awarded the Track Cup to David Parsons, winner of the eleven-event Decathlon, an individual track competition. Jean Stress received the Frank Lyons Memorial Trophy, awarded by vote of the Senior Class to the "most popular, all-around student."

Lester Short and Robert Warren shared honors in receiving the Rockie Cramer Memorial Trophy, presented by the Cramer family to the student or students "best exemplifying the qualities of leadership" among those who have at least one letter in a major sport, and excel in regular gymnastic classwork and intra-mural sports.

Varsity Club President Owen Jones presented the Varsity Club trophy to James Parker, as the school athlete who, despite lack of public fanfare, showed the most grit, determination and team loyalty.

Dr. Earl P. Watkins, school superintendent, addressed the assembly after presentation of the awards.
