Ilion Student Dies Suddenly

Ilion - Frank M. Lyons, 16, son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas P. Lyons, 13 W. Main St., and Junior in Ilion, High School, died very suddenly in the Ilion Hospital this morning. Cause of death has not been established.

He was born in Wilkes-Barre, Pa on Sept. 29, 1933, a son of Thomas and Anne Caffrey Lyons. The family have lived in Ilion for the past four years.

Frank was a member of the Church of the Annunciation, Holy Name Society, Annunciation Circle, Columbian Squires, the Air Scouts of the Elks, and was junior manager of the Ilion High School football team.

He leaves his parents, his paternal grandmother; one sister, Noralie and several uncles, aunts and cousins.

A Requiem Mass will be celebrated in the Church of the Annunciation at 9:30 a.m. Friday following a service at 9 in the Applegate Funeral Home. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Wilkes-Barre.
