Honor Group At High School Larger Than Average Joyce Chismore has attained the distinction of being valedictorian of the class of 1944 of the Ilion high school, and Jean Lyon is its salutatorian, according to an announcement made by Principal J. G. Prindle, during the assembly program last Friday afternoon. Prindle stated that the class of 95 is the smallest in recent years, but the number of honor pupils is above the average, consequently the number of honor students compared with the size of the class is large. Prindle expressed himself as pleased with the records attained, and stated that he hoped the boys and girls would continue to strive for high goals in their chosen fields of endeavor. The ten pupils who attained an honor average are: Joyce Chismore, 95.47; Jean Lyon, 92.83; Shirley Griffith, 92.81; Thelma Preston, 92.69; Donna Smith, 92.09; Margaret Mullen, 91.03; Shirley Cramer, 90.87; June Ellen Murray, 90.51; Lockart Armstrong, 89.03; and Howard Cook, 88.84.
