Ilion Native Gets New Post ILION - Rev. William P. Anderson, a native of Ilion, son of Mr. and Mrs. James S. Anderson, 61 Hoefler Ave., assistant at St. Ann's Church in Washington, D.C., has been named archdiocesan director of television in Washington, it was learned here today. He succeeds the Rev. Raymond P. Cahill, who accepted a chaplain's commission in the U.S. Navy. Father Anderson was ordained in May, 1952, in St. Matthew's Cathedral, Washington, by Archbishop Patrick A. O'Boyle. A member of the Church of the Annunciation here, he was graduated in 1940 from Annunciation School and attended Ilion High School for three years before entering St. Andrew's Preparatory Seminary in Rochester to complete high school and classical studies. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Our Lady of Angels Seminary, Niagara University, and undertook theological studies at Theological College, Catholic University, Washington, where he received the degree of Licentiate of Sacred Theology. He offered his first Solemn Mass on June 15, 1952, at Annunciation Church. Last September, he was named chaplain of Keane Council, Knights of Columbus.
