Condolences.....

Daniel Theodore Moreau, IHS 1982 Woolwich - It is with heavy hearts that we announce the unexpected passing of Daniel Theodore Moreau. Dan passed at his home with his loving wife by his side on September 27, 2022. Dan was born in Ilion, New York to Henry "Hank" and Beverly (Moss) Moreau on February 2, 1963. He attended Ilion schools and enjoyed playing football and wrestling. After graduating high school, Dan turned down a wrestling scholarship for college to instead serve our country by enlisting in the Navy. While stationed at BNAS Brunswick in VP-23, Dan met his best friend and love of his life, and future wife of nearly 37 years, Donna. Dan settled his family in Maine after Honorably being discharged from the service and began working at BIW in 1988. Dan was a proud Ls6 member of 34 years and has been on the Dry Dock as an outside machinist since its arrival. The dry dock, and the crew there, were like his second home. Some may remember him on Christmas time Sea Trials sporting his Santa suit. Dan was known by a few titles that he wore like badges signifying his fierce love, pride and dedication. He was Dan to those that knew him. Frog and the infamous Streak growing up. Danny to those that loved him. Uncle Dan. Dad to four. Puppa Dan to a few. Occasionally the man in the big red suit and even a special Santa Baby to one. Puppa to his dearly beloved grandchildren and their significant others. And his newest title of Huppa to two special little grandsons. By whatever name you knew him as, Dan was always there to quietly share his time, steadfast advice, a helping hand, or a Yuengling by a fire. Dan loved to spend time with family, both here in Maine, Connecticut, and in upstate New York. Dan enjoyed spending his summers camping and fishing, especially up to Caratunk and Moscow at the Dimmicks. Dan was also a deer hunter and spent countless hours in the woods pursuing whitetail with family and friends. Dan leaves behind his loving wife, Donna Moreau of Woolwich; a daughter, Audra and her partner David of Whitefield; a daughter, Amanda of Houlton; a son, Daniel and his fiancé Kate of Bath; a son, Joseph and his fiancé Kahla of Bath; grandchildren Christopher and his partner Kellie of Woolwich; Ashley and her partner Evan of Richmond; Tanisha of Woolwich; Brody and Jay of Whitefield; Javon and Isaiah of Houlton; Azarias and Ramiel of Bath; and great grandchildren Braxton and a new addition due in March; his mom, Beverly "Bev" Moreau of New York, his brother Jeffrey and wife Louise of New York, his brother Michael and wife Regina of New York, a sister Mary-Jo and her partner Bill of New York, nephews, a niece, great-nephews and nieces, aunts, uncles and many cousins. Dan was pre-deceased by his father, Hank, and a brother, Henry. A viewing is scheduled for October 11, 2022 from 4-6pm at Desmond Funeral Home on High Street, Bath, Maine. Graveside services and interment is October 12, 2022 at 10am at the new Maine Veterans Cemetery, Augusta, Maine. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Red Cross. "Brian Miller and I got together at his house in Maryland recently (on my drive south, actually) and reminisced about "back in the day." I recorded part of the conversation and, after deft editing for gentlemanly discretion, posted the audio file on my website. Perhaps other members of the Class of 1982 would find the banter and musings about our friendship and time in high school mildly interesting. Or incredibly annoying. Either way...here's the link if you'd like to post it on the alumni website:

We are looking forward to being in the grandstands again and seeing all of you who still live in the area. My wife Jewel is currently pushing parts at Autozone and looking for something a little more rewarding (anybody have any suggestions - she has a degree in accounting). works for me right now tho as I am building an 83 K20 Chevy pickup (lifted - big tires, strong engine, etc.).... it's kind of like all the home improvements we did when she worked at Lowes. It all works out in the end. I am still at Nelson Associates as an Architect - still trying to figure out what I want to be when I grow up! Can you believe we are out of school 25 years now .... should we be talking about a 25 year reunion???? ..or maybe a 30? I know my memory is shot, but I think Mary and Carol (along with others I am sure) were the wonderful people who brought us together last time, and maybe with a little noise we could coax them into starting something up again. What do you think ?see ya soon, Ron."

Deanna Miller, Family Care Provider, email, Ilion, NY, re-registered. (May 11, 2007)

"Just an update on what's been going on in my life. I am still a Family Care Provider. I take care of developmentally disabled adults in my home.I have been doing this since 2001. I have 4 sons. Anthony 23, Brian 22, Brett 20 and Brandon 17. Brandon will graduate from Jarvis High School in Mohawk in June of 2008. I am now a grandmother. I have a granddaughter Elizabeth who will be 4 in June and my grandson Anthony IV turned 3 on May 6. Being a grandparent is really nice. I can spend time with them, spoil them and then they go home! Then it is back to peace and quiet! Most of my family has moved to Florida. I think maybe down the road I'll think about moving there too. I love the hot weather and I am getting where I don't like the snow anymore. Well that's it for now. If anyone has any information on a 25 year reunion please email me. Or if anyone would just like to say hi feel free to contact me. Take Care"

"I hope everyone is doing well. I was surfing the net and decided to drop in and realized that I haven't sent an update in 2 years. I am still living in Utica with my 2 cats Pj who will be 22 and Ollie who will be 17 this year. I am single and currently not dating as my health has not been the greatest the past 6 months. In August 2004 I suffered a major stroke, (number 3) and was in the hospital for about a month. I had to stay in a rehab for intensive therapy to learn to do EVERYTHING again and was home in time for the holidays and had a wonderful Christmas with my family. I am retired due to my health and no longer am able to drive so I concentrate on getting as much function back as I can everyday by going to therapies and practicing at home. I can walk with braces and a walker and I have some use of my left arm and hand. My speech is funky (My family says I sound like Sophia from the Golden Girls) but I am still doing the things I love online, genealogy and volunteering with the kids at the UCP ArmoryTherapy Dept. One of which has said his first words in his whole 25 yrs. It was AWESOME!! I am hoping that I will be able to drive again but until then I am working hard at getting my strength back. This internet website has been a helpful tool for me in finding old friends. I am currently in touch with quite a few of my old buddies from school. What a wonderful idea!

I have recently moved south to Lebanon, PA to be with a man who asked me to be his lifetime partner. We live in a huge 3 bedroom home and will be building our 3 bedroom ranch home just east of here on our 2 1/2 acres of land.

Lebanon is in a centrally located area with Philadelphia, Reading, Hershey, and Harrisburg just around the corner from me.

Lebanon kinda reminds of the "old" Ilion when we had all the big buildings. There is even a railroad track right by the elementary school that I live close to. Kinda reminds me of North Street School.

I am currently working as a Contract Administrative Assistant/Bookkeeper for a company called CHAR Services, Inc. Check out our website-www.charservices.com. The company is a consulting engineering firm for Nuclear Power Plants.

I am also happy to annouce that my Brother Ralph's Wife gave birth to my niece in August-Tori Angeline Bottini! And just 6 months later my Sister Angie gave birth to Steven Samuel Sayles on February 2, 2001! All are doing well.

Here's hoping all is well with all of you and I am looking forward to seeing you in a year at our 20th!!! - Tammy
